Total Weight Loss: -96.2
Current Week (4/26/11): 163.8
Current Week: -.2
Well the scale is moving rather slowly, but I'm not doing the greatest either! I'm getting tons of Activity in, but then I'm finding reasons to "treat" myself with food because I exercised. Fail! And now...a challenge awaits me ahead! I'm off to Asheville, NC this weekend for my 2nd bachelorette party with my Matron of honor, bridesmaids, and a few very treasured college friends. I'm beyond words excited, and can't wait to see my friends that I've missed oh so much! In fact, I'm so excited that it's all I can think of, and I'm not exactly sure what else to write today. I'm sorry! I promise a good entry next week. Have a fabulous week everyone! :)

Week 4 and 5: Catching up a little!
Week 4:
Starting Weight: 260 (January 2009)
Total Weight Loss: -95.8
Current Week (4/26/11): 164.2
Current Week: -.4
Week 5:
Starting Weight: 260 (January 2009)
Total Weight Loss: -96
Current Week (5/3/11): 164
Current Week: -.2
So, as you can see I haven't done so hot the last two weeks, but none-the-less the scale is moving in the right direction, and that's what matters!
Wedding is 6 weeks and 2 days away-yikes! All I want more than anything is to be in the 150's by the time we leave for Hawaii on June 14. I have re-set my mind as of this week, and am determined to get there. To aid in my goal, I'm committing to stepping up my exercise and tracking everything I eat 100% this month. I've decided to narrow down my 1,000,000 goals to simply 2 this month. As women, I feel we often try to multi-task too much-even though we are quite good at it most of the time! If we'd simplify our minds (kind of like men do-lol), we'd probably be more successful (like men are when they try to lose weight). Think about it! When your man "goes on a diet," how quickly does he drop the lbs?! I know mine can lose like 10 lbs in a day when he puts his mind to it. When I put my mind to it, I'm lucky if I lose 10 lbs in a year! Now, think about how they do it....do they simply cut out soda? Simply start running? Simply cut out carbs? More often than not, I bet they're doing one simple thing and it's working! Am I right?! I'm switching to man-mode this month. Wish me luck! :)
In order to step up my exercise, I'm going to focus on walking more and Jillian more. My mom and I stepped up the walking last month by walking up a steep hill and back down it at our lunch time-about a 15 minute walk. This month, we're going to continue to do this and a little more by doing the same 15 minute walk right before we start work in the morning.
My after-work workouts will continue (with possible slight variation or 1 day off here and there):
Monday- Walk and Zumba
Tuesday-Walk
Wednesday-Walk and Zumba
Thursday-Walk and Jillian
Friday-Jillian
Saturday-Walk and Jillian
Sunday-Walk and Jillian
*By "Jillian," I mean Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD-Great toning/strength training workout! Uber cheap too!
I have also joined a group of ladies on my weight watchers message board in a biggest loser challenge. One of the ladies on the board organized teams, and each week we motivate one another on our teams, and post our weights to a spreadsheet each week. I think this will be a definite motivator for me knowing I have to share my weight with a bunch of other ladies that are also losing weight-I do not want to be the loser...rather than the biggest loser!
This past weekend was my 1st bachelorette party with my Wisconsin gals-great time! Next weekend (May 12-16) is my 2nd bachelorette party with my southern gals in Asheville, NC. I cannot wait to see my very great/missed friends, including my bridal party ladies!
The ladies in my family did something very unexpected, yet pleasant. They are throwing me a bridal shower on May 22 for all my closest family/friends here in Wisconsin. I am very appreciative to them for this! I've never actually been to a bridal shower, so I'm super excited to experience my own as the 1st! :)
Stay tuned-I'll try to keep you posted each week!

Week 3: Stupid Snow!
Starting Weight: 260 (January 2009)
Total Weight Loss: -95.4
Current Week (4/12/11): 164.6
Current Week: -.6
I had a really good week last week, so to see a loss of only -.6 was only slightly upsetting. Only slightly upsetting, because I had such a large loss the week before, so, on the other hand, I was happy to have kept off that big loss, and manage to get off another half a pound, so yay me!
Can you believe we have been under a winter storm warning the past 2 days, and have been getting dumped on with snow!? IT'S APRIL! IT'S SPRING! AHHHH...UGH..UGH...UGH!!! It has finally let up, and the temperature is already back up in the 40's, and should continue to head up into the 50's by the end of the week, so it won't be sticking around for too long. I really just hope this is the end of "winter"....this winter has been harsh, and we're all over it up here! The past two days have hated on my walking, so my attitude is sour.
Saturday 5k update:
Didn't do it :( It was windy, cold, and nasty out when we got up Saturday morning, so we didn't bother driving the 40 minutes to the 5k to run/walk for a miserable race...I'm just not that badass, and never will be! I didn't slack on the workouts however...I managed to fit in some amazing workouts last weekend, so I made up for it.
So for tonight, I'm going to make one of these (just haven't decided which one yet):
I'll let you know which one I decide on, and let you know how it was!
Today's Activity:
45 minute walk after work
Zumba 5:30-6:30
Total Weight Loss: -95.4

Swimsuit Shopping....YUCK!!! 1st Wedding Dress Fitting...YAY!!!
I recently started looking around for some swimsuits to take along to Hawaii. The only swimsuits I currently have on hand are the ones I wore last summer, which was about 20-40 lbs ago! I made do with those swimsuits last month when I went on a cruise with my fiance, and parents. I really thought they'd be ok to wear just to get through that vacation without having to fork over some money for swimsuits that might not fitting me by this summer. While they got me through that vacation, my booty looked saggy, and my ta tas were marshmallows inside of teacups! It wasn't a pretty picture, but who did I have to impress! I dealt with it!
I know, however, I need to purchase a new swimsuit wardrobe for this summer, so I ordered 5 new swimsuits online last week. I ordered 5, but only intend to keep, at the most, 3! I ordered 3 from Old Navy, 1 from Target, and 1 from JcPennys. Today, I received the one from Target, and the one from JcPennys in the mail, so I tried both on during my lunch period. The 1st to try on (and the one I anticipated I'd be sending back right away, due to it's risque nature for my not-so-fit body) was from Target. See link:

While I am not keeping this swimsuit, I really did like it! I wasn't entirely happy with it on my body, which is why it's going back, but I wasn't nearly as disappointed as I thought I would be! The picture on the website doesn't do it any justice; it really is a beautiful swimsuit! My only complaint was the bottom portion was just a little bit too skimpy on my frontside. I still have a bit of "pudge" on my mid section, and didn't like the slight "muffin top" that was coming out of the bottom portion. I probably would love it if I dropped 10 more lbs, but I just didn't want to take the risk of never liking it, so it's going back! I hope to re-visit monokinis again, because I think they're adorable!
So, while the first swimsuit was only a minor disappointment, I am absolutely in love with the 2nd one that has arrived from JCPennys! Here it is:

I am actually going to be able to show a little mid-drift, and it actually looks ok! This is a first time ever in my life! It is so vibrant, and so cute on my body! 5-10 more lbs gone before summer will make it look even more fantastic!
1st Wedding Dress Fitting:
Went AMAZING! I first bought the dress back in September, and it just came in last week (Yikes!)! It's a size 18, and I bought it when I was about a street size 14-16 (the dress runs small). I am now a size 12...almost 10. I have lost about 20-25 lbs since purchasing the dress, and it showed! It's being taken in about an inch on each side/seam, and it looks amazing on my body! The smiles my mom and I shared on Friday, while having my 1st dress fitting, were much needed after the awful week/loss of a pet that we endured last week. My 2nd fitting is May 5th...I can't wait to see it altered! The seamstress is also going to take it in a "smidge" more since I plan to be about 5-10 lbs lighter by wedding day. :)
Today's Activity:
15 min brisk-Up-Hill Walk at lunch
30-35 minute Walk with mom and dogs after lunch
1 Hour Zumba class 5:30-6:30
It's Chris's night to cook...YAAAYY FOR ME! But my night to do homework :( :( :( :(
I miss my bestie and Matron of Honor....I even miss that margarita we shared a couple weeks ago! :(

Last Night's Dinner=
AMAZING! A must-try for all! Again, here it is:
http://www.emilybites.com/2011/01/deep-dish-pizza-casserole.html
I got a phone call today from the bridal shop I ordered my wedding dress from about 7 months ago telling me that my dress and shoes have arrived! I am going in tomorrow for my first fitting at about 20 lbs lighter than I was when I ordered it (I ordered it in the size that fit me at that time)! This should be interesting...
Chris and I also received our first wedding gift in the mail today-so fun! Everything's really coming together, and this whole wedding thing is becoming so REAL! AHHH!!! :) :) :)
On a bit of a bummer note-we might not be doing a 5k on Saturday morning. We have nasty weather coming, and sorry....I'm not running a 5k in a down-pour...I'm just not that bad ass yet...not sure I ever will be!
I pigged out a little on girl scout cookies...they were super good! I tracked them, so I'm moving on!

Week 2: Let's mix things up!
Starting Weight: 260 (January 2009)
Total Weight Loss: -94.8
Current Week (4/12/11): 165.2
Current Week: -2.4
-WARNING:THIS MAY BE GRAPHIC TO READ OR SIMPLY UPSETTING TO ANIMAL LOVERS-
First off, I'd like to apologize for not having posted at least once more in this past week/weekend. It's been a bit of a rough one for my immediate family as my parent's 7 year old yellow lab passed away unexpectedly sunday night/monday morning while at the vet. She went in for a simple operation to remove a bump on her ear, and while being operated on, the vet noticed her WBC was low, she was bleeding a lot/not clotting, and her gums began to bleed. The assumption at that point was that Maggie had gotten into rat poisoning, which was absolutely baffling, as my parents would never bring rat poisoning onto their property. The only solution was that she must have gotten ahold of a rat/mouse that had rat poisoning. The solution to this was to give Maggie Vitamin K shots to raise her blood/cell levels, and she immediately started getting better upon receiving the shots. At this point, we think the solution has been found and after a few days, she will shake it off! Saturday morning, I went with my mom to pick Maggie up (she spent the night at the vet Friday night), and the vet showed us that she was still bleeding a lot and every time she'd shake her head, blood would go flying from her ear, which was making a very large mess (a very sad sight to see). The vet offered to let her stay the remainder of the weekend so they could keep her cleaned up, stitched up, packaged, and so my mom could avoid having a huge mess. Leaving her at the vet to allow them to take care of her wound over the weekend was the very obvious right choice to make. On Monday morning, my mom called me, at which point I assumed she would ask me to ride up with her to the vet to pick Maggie up. I answered her phone call and heard, "Maggie's dead..." accompanied by tears. This was the most unexpected, shocking, and heartbreaking news to hear, and I lost it. The vet was extremely confused, and said it could have been a number of reasons; lupus being the most possible of reasons, which probably caused her heart to stop due to a blood clot. No matter what the reason, it doesn't change the outcome, so that's not important. This is day 3 post our loss...and each day gets better, but it's still just completely devastating. Our dogs mean the world to us...they're simply our family members, and nothing less.
MOVING ON!!!
On a lighter note, I did really well this week with my activity/food journaling/food choices! I journaled all my food, earned 33 activity points, and still had a good time/didn't deprive myself while doing it! I managed to do this having eaten out twice, and even went drinking one night! All in all, a great and successful week having lost 2.4 lbs at my weigh in last night at weight watchers!
I've decided I do best when I, somewhat, "confuse" my body from week to week and constantly mix things up. I know that if I did the same exact thing this week as I did last week, I just wouldn't do as good. This week, I'm going to focus on all cardio, while last week I focused on cardio and toning. Maybe next week I'll do toning only! I don't know yet...I'll get through this week first! Today I walked for a total of 1 hour for my activity, gaining 5 Activity Points. Tomorrow, I hope to do the same. On Saturday, I will be doing my first 5k of the season with my mom and Chris, and hope to accomplish a good time while running most of it! I'm setting a goal of less than 36 minutes. As I discussed earlier, I'll keep you posted on this!
Each week (actually, almost each night!), I like to find a new recipe and make it. I am especially partial to the following blogs right now:
http://www.skinnytaste.com/
http://www.emilybites.com/
These ladies post amazing recipes! I have yet to make one I do not like. I'll try to review the new recipes I make as often as possible. Tonight I'm making this:
